What is Tube Bending

Tube bending is a metal-forming process used to reshape straight tubes or pipes into curved configurations with precise angles and radii. This technique is essential in industries like shipbuilding, automotive manufacturing, and HVAC systems, where custom-shaped tubing is required for structural or functional purposes.

Key Techniques of Tube Bending

    1. Press Bending

      • Simplest method; a hydraulic press forces the tube against a die.
      • Cost-effective but less precise, suitable for large-radius bends.
    2. Rotary Draw Bending

      • High-precision method; the tube is clamped and drawn around a die by a rotating arm.
      • Uses a mandrel inside the tube to prevent collapse, ideal for tight, repeatable bends (e.g., automotive exhausts).
    3. Roll Bending

      • Employs three rollers to gradually curve the tube into large arcs.
      • Common in architectural elements (e.g., handrails) and circular frameworks.
    4. Induction Bending

      • Localized heating via induction coils softens the tube before bending.
      • Used for heavy-duty applications (e.g., shipbuilding, pipelines).
    5. Compression Bending

      • The tube is pushed into a die, often used for furniture or light fixtures.

Total two tube benders, monthly production capacity is 300,000 tons in total.

Application of Bended Tubes

  1. Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchangers:
    • U bends allow tubes to expand/contract with temperature changes, reducing mechanical stress.
    • Often used in the ‌tube bundle‌ of condensers, evaporators, and reboilers.
  2. Power Plants: In steam generators and boilers.
  3. Chemical Processing: For handling high-pressure or corrosive fluids.
  4. HVAC Systems: In chillers and refrigeration units.
