What is a Flange
A steel flange is a mechanical component used to connect pipes, valves, pumps, or other equipment in industrial systems. It is typically a flat, circular ring or collar with evenly spaced bolt holes around its perimeter. Flanges are designed to create a secure, leak-proof joint when bolted to a matching flange on another component. They are widely used in piping systems, pressure vessels, and structural applications to enable assembly, disassembly, and maintenance.
Types of Flanges
Weld Neck Flanges, Slip-On Flanges, Socket-Weld Flanges, Lap Joint Flanges, Blind Flanges, Threaded Flanges, Long Neck Welding Flanges, Orifice Flanges, Special Flanges, etc.
How are Flanges made
Flanges are manufactured using three main techniques: casting, cutting from rolled plate material, or forging.
